Use your senses

Use this simple game to help children with their writing or speaking skills. Children to throw a die, count that number of squares and they either land on 'what can I see, what can I hear, what can I touch, what can I smell?' They must give a sentence describing what they see, hear, smell or touch. Obviously you can play this game anywhere, sitting in the playground, in the garden, in the school canteen, in the classroom etc.

Blogging event on the 29th Feb

I found this article on TES and found it very interesting. A blog will be opened on 29th Feb and people from all over the world will be able to write on it, including children. This will give a real sense of purpose for writing.

Of course you could use real Jelly Beans but if you just want an activity which is better for teeth the use these cards and questions.

Print, laminate and use dry wipe pens for children to practise writing words. Use the one with lines for children to write a sentence.

100 square game

Learning objective is 1 more or 1 less
Children to play in pairs. Each throw a die in turn and move that number of squares. If they land on the red square they must move one forward. If they land on a blue square then they must move one backwards. If they land on a yellow then they win.
