Addition game - combining 2 numbers under 12

A very simple game but lots of fun. You will need two dice numbered from 1 - 6 and lots of counters. Children to throw the two dice in turn and add the two numbers together. They then cover up the relevant number on their number strip. The first one to cover up all their numbers wins.

Adding caterpillar

Click the image and then right click and save to your computer. Insert the image into a word document set for landscape. Laminate and then write a number in the first section with a dry wipe pen. Children have to add one or add two etc to that number and continue until they reach the head section. You can make up alsorts of rules to differentiate children's abilities.

Numeracy game - to encourage counting on

Click the image and the right click and save to your computer. Insert into a word document and print out.

Write numbers in each of the tiles, I am using 1-5 for my little group. Children have to throw a dice and move that number of spaces. Which ever number they land on they have to collect that number of counters. The next time they throw they have to collect the counters and add them onto the number of counters they have already collected. The one who has won the most counters at the end of the game is the winner.
